It’s June. The start of summer. Warm sunny days are finally here.
For many in my field, it’s also crunch time.
Only 30 days left to fiscal year end. 30 days to get those final contributions to meet goals and make budget. I’ve been there—often.
But, I’m proud to say that here at Beacon, our efforts are focused on the future. On next year and on the years that will come after.
Thanks to you—our many donors, leaders, volunteers, congregations, Citizens and staff—we are confident that we’ll end this fiscal year in the black and that we have a strong start on funding for next year (and the year after, and the year after that).
We’re immensely grateful to all of you who have made long-term commitments to support Beacon financially. It’s what makes our housing and programs sustainable and stable. It enables us to take risks and try new things.
Now, this doesn’t mean we’re done. We’re far from done. The need for shelter and affordable housing continues, which means our work continues and so does our fundraising. Beacon has 4 apartment buildings in the pipeline and envisions many more. There are 12 families sheltering in Families Moving Forward right now and we get calls from others who need shelter every day. We welcome your gift and want you to know that it will help many people, have great impact and be managed well.
It does mean that we’re prepared for the future. That we’re in this for the long haul.
