How long have you worked at Beacon (or any of its previous incarnations)? I have worked at Beacon for a little over a year.
Describe your job - not necessarily your official job description but what you really do every day. I juggle…and I learn every day!! Managing our 17 properties and 2 family shelters is very complicated and multifaceted. I have to be diligent with budgets, creative with funding opportunities, smart when problem solving, open minded when working with community partners, supportive when working with the people we serve, and just plain full of energy. It’s a good thing that I have a great team to work with.
Why do you like working here? I love the people I work with and the unique congregational model that we utilize.
What’s one thing you are most proud of about your work? I love to create teams and support others in their success.
What kind of job would you have if you weren’t so busy helping to end homelessness? Hmmmmmm…I love when people are having a good time and enjoying themselves. I would be a party planner!! Or a science teacher.
What is your favorite book, movie, comedian, play, sport, pastime? I love to read, fish, camp, and spend time on the water.
What is something that most people don’t know about you? I have an 8 lb. walleye stuffed and hanging on my wall.
