Deb leads Beacon's congregational organizing team that works with congregations to live out their mission of justice through community building and the development of affordable housing. Trained by the Gamaliel Foundation for Leadership, Deb has more than 15 years of community organizing experience in a variety of communities and on a variety of issues. In particular, Deb is a leader for racial justice, having trained and worked with some of the leading racial justice organizations including Race Forward, the Organizing Apprenticeship Project and Hackman Consulting Group. For 10 years prior to joining the Beacon staff she was First Universalist Church's director of faith in action.
A mother of three, Deb spends her free time gardening, reading and researching her family history. Deb enjoys spending time with her two young gradnchildren, her husband and two dogs.
