DESCRIPTION:As we work toward a vision where “all people have a home\,” we know that over 200\,000 households struggle to pay rent at the beginning of every month. Housing insecurity jeopardizes the health of individuals\, families\, and communities\, drives people toward homelessness\, and increases racial disparities. \nDuring our Rent Is Due meetings\, we’ll gather as Beacon advocates to change this reality. \nTogether\, we’re advocating for new policies that make it easier for all people to have a safe\, affordable place to call home. \nDuring our 30-minute virtual meeting\, you’ll hear updates on our current campaigns\, hear from special guests or elected officials\, and receive concrete actions to help you advance our mission. \nRent is Due helps us connect to our work as housing advocates and take meaningful\, collective action toward a brighter future where all people have a home. \nSince these meetings started in 2020\, our collective actions have helped bring that ideal future closer. Working together\, we helped advocate for state legislators to approve a historic $2 billion in funding for supportive housing. We broke ground on several new apartment homes and paved the way for many more. \nTogether\, we can move mountains. \nWe will provide a Zoom link with closed captioning for this meeting. During our 30-minute virtual meeting\, you will hear updates on Bring it Home\, Minnesota\, and our other campaigns\, hear from special guests or elected officials\, and be given concrete actions to do.   \nOur goal is an efficient\, clear meeting once a month for you to feel connected to the work and able to take impactful action. We have been holding this meeting successfully since June of 2020\, and for these three years\, people joining together to take action once a month have made a difference.  \nA Zoom meeting with Closed Captioning is available.
