DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re brand new to Beacon or have been a supporter for years\, we invite you to attend a virtual “Beacon Now” session. In each session\, we’ll touch on the basics of Beacon’s work\, go in depth on one aspect of that work\, and discuss how we can make a difference for Minnesotans now. Encampments of people without a home are again growing. Racial disparities in housing continue to harm communities of color. \nThis session will cover the launch of our new supportive housing\, Aster Commons\, focused on autistic and other neurodivergent youth in suburban Hennepin County. You’ll learn why these homes are so essential and how they connect to our vision that all people have a home. Join us to learn more and find out how you can get involved in Beacon’s work. \nThis Zoom event will have Closed Captioning available.

DESCRIPTION:Emerson Village has been awarded most of the public funding needed to build about 40 family-size apartments at 1808 Emerson in Minneapolis! As we get closer to that time\, Beacon\, Project for Pride in Living\, and our architect\, UrbanWorks\, are ready to share more about the design and other updates. \nThis event is for supporters on the Northside\, such as members of North Minneapolis congregations\, families who have been involved in focus groups led by Juxtaposition Arts\, and nearby neighbors who would like to learn more. \nWe will welcome your questions and input\, facilitated by JXTA. \nRegister to receive more info about participating in person or over zoom. \n
