Estate and Planned Giving

The greatest legacies begin at home

Leave a Legacy through a Planned Gift

Thank you for considering Beacon in your will or estate plan as part of your legacy. Your planned gift can help neighbors create and invest in legacies of their own rooted in the safety and stability of their own home. We rely on supporters like you who invest in Beacon’s work for the long term – leaving a legacy that will help provide shelter and homes for those in need for generations to come.

Ways to Make a Planned Gift

  • Will or Trust
Name Beacon to receive a gift as a specific amount or percentage in your will or living trust.
  • Beneficiary Designation
Charities can be named as beneficiaries to many assets. You can name Beacon as a primary or secondary beneficiary for assets like retirement accounts and life insurance policies.
  • Donate Real Estate
Maximize your contribution to Beacon by donating real estate directly. Real estate donations are eligible for an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the home.
  • Donor Advised Funds
In addition to making grants to the causes you care about during your lifetime, many donor advised funds also give the option to name organizations like Beacon as a beneficiary of any remaining assets in the fund.

The Cornerstone Society

Throughout history, the cornerstone was a crucial component of any building. As the first stone set in the foundation, the cornerstone determined the position of the entire structure. The cornerstone requires planning and intention, and when properly set creates a foundation for buildings that stand the test of time.

By including Beacon in your will or estate plan, you also create a firm foundation for Beacon’s future work and the individuals and families who will live in Beacon’s homes for years to come. Beacon’s Cornerstone Society is our way of recognizing the thoughtful and caring individuals who have invested in home for future generations by including Beacon in their estate plans. Through these commitments, our growing collaborative is able to provide supportive services, create new homes, and change current systems to ensure that all people have a home.
