Start with Home rally recap
Housing advocates from the Beacon community braved freezing weather and made it to the Start With Home Rally at the Minnesota State Capitol Building on Tuesday, January 21.
They joined Cranberry Ridge resident Amanda, who took the stage following speeches from Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan, in calling on legislators to prioritize further investment in safe, affordable housing across the state.
Altogether, Beacon was one of 18 organizations, including Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota, Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers, and Minnesota Housing Partnership, who showed up to advocate for home.
If you’d like to know more about Beacon’s legislative priorities for this coming session, we invite you to check out this recent blog post.
