Sustain Stable Homes

Providing support services that help people thrive where they are.

Preventing homelessness in Minnesota through supportive housing

Going to bed each night in a safe, warm, comfortable place offers a sense of dignity and stability that allows each individual to be at their best. We believe a safe, affordable home is someone everyone deserves.

Tonight, over 700 households will turn off the lights, secure in their home at one of Beacon’s 21 quality buildings across Minnesota’s Twin Cities metro area. The stability provided by affordable, supportive housing makes a world of difference by offering a crucial first step toward improvements in health, education, employment opportunities, and overall well-being.

What is “supportive housing?”

Many of Beacon’s properties are what’s known as “supportive housing.” Supportive housing offers residents access to support services and advocates right in their building. And it means their apartment is deeply affordable, which brings relief and flexibility to their budget and life.

Supportive housing services tailor themselves to the needs of each individual and family, whether they want to focus on finding a job, advancing their education, connecting with the community, bettering their health, or all of the above.

No matter what the focus, supportive housing services offer residents a trusted, on-site advocate to work with them in setting goals and mapping a plan for success.
