Homeless Day on the Hill 2026 Toolkit

Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative March 3, 2026

March 11, 2026 Event at the Minnesota State Capitol

Beacon is joining the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless (MCH) to sponsor and participate in Homeless Day on the Hill, an annual event that brings together groups working on housing and homelessness. This year, the event will focus on supportive housing.

There will be a morning program and legislative visits. Staff are setting up lobby visits for participants who registered by March 2 so they can meet with their State Senator and State Representative. Schedule of visits and logistics will be sent closer to the event date.

Homeless Day on the Hill

If you’ve registered by March 2, you are all set and should be hearing from the MCH or Beacon team. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can still attend to show a powerful contingent that believes in the importance of supportive housing. Your voice matters. Join us.

Participating in Lobby Day

You will not be alone in visits with legislators. Typically, there’s a big group of people who share the same senator or representative, and you have all convened for Lobby Day for the same reason. Everyone will be coming together to advocate for policies around supportive housing.

Beacon and the Coalition for the Homeless are working together on an online Lobby Day participant training – we will send more information on this soon, please stay tuned and watch your email inbox after you sign up. Initial materials and trainings can be found below.

Sustain the Gain: Supportive Housing and services to address homelessness
Due to federal priority shifts and changes to state funding, Sustain the Gain addresses the urgent need for sustained investments in supportive housing and services across Minnesota. While Supportive Housing is the backbone of long-term stability for people with the highest needs, this funding also safeguards the emergency response, transitional services, outreach, coordinated entry, and data systems that keep communities functioning effectively. No single provider, county, Continuum of Care (CoC), or funding partner can do this alone; this investment preserves system capacity and ensures vulnerable Minnesotans remain housed.
