As resident Terriannah explained, “Living here and building these relationships is healing. Being here feels reassuring. The staff is so personable, and the residents are welcoming.”
The numbers reflect the impact. In its first months, nearly every resident remained stably housed. The vast majority were working, enrolled in school, or actively seeking employment. And for young people like Kadijah, Prior Crossing has been life-changing. She shared, “Living at Prior Crossing helps me fulfill my dreams of becoming a doctor and an artist.”
This kind of transformation doesn’t happen without support. The Transitional Living Program (TLP) provides federal funding that makes services like counseling, case management, and community-building possible. These dollars allow youth to stabilize, pursue education, and move toward independence.
But today, Congress is debating next year’s federal budgets, and TLP is at risk. If these funds are cut, youth housing like Prior Crossing could lose the very services that make stability possible.
That’s why your voice is needed.
