New Homes’ Eve
A Pandemic Safe Celebration of Our Beacon Homes. Written by Craig Freeman, Community Connections Manager
Like many people around the world, we at Beacon are very ready to turn the page on 2020. We are excited to look towards the new year because 2021 is going to be a tremendous year at Beacon!
In the first few months of 2021, we will be closing on the final funding for four different developments. Then, as the weather allows, we’ll be able to begin construction on Cranberry Ridge, Bimosedaa, and expansions at American House and Lydia Apartments! These projects will result in the following:
Cranberry Ridge: 45 new supportive homes for families in Plymouth with our service partner Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners.
![]()
Bimosedaa: 48 new supportive homes tailored toward Native individuals who have experienced homelessness with our service partner Avivo and our partner the sovereign Red Lake Nation.
![]()
American House: Renovated homes and service provider spaces (plus 2 new homes) at our 70 unit building for individuals exiting homelessness with our service partner Avivio.
![]()
Lydia Apartments: A 40-unit addition and renovation of the 40 existing homes at our very first development for single adults with our service partner Avivo.

We couldn’t be more exited about creating these homes for our neighbors! You can learn more about the properties, get a map for their location, and read Beacon’s acknowledgement regarding the land the homes will sit on here.

Directions to each home can also be found via this link.
Ordinarily we would be throwing a Ground Breaking celebration for each of the four developments, but as we still don’t know when we’ll be able to gather with you again we’re opting for a different kind of party.
On New Year’s Eve we invite all Beacon supporters to get out of the house between 5:00 and 7 p.m., and drive to one or more of the four sites to offer a blessing for all who will call the property home one day soon. Then, if you’re on social media, take a picture of yourself at the site and tag us on Facebook (@BeaconInterfaith), Twitter (@BelieveInHome) or Instagram (@BelieveInHome), and use the hash tag #BelieveInHome.
Prior to New Homes’ Eve we’re looking to collect more blessings to share with everyone, and we want these blessings to represent all religious/cultural backgrounds. So, if you have a blessing (or even just have a few minutes to find one) please send it to me at cfreeman@beaconinterfaith.org. All collected blessings will be posted on the website in advance of the 31st.
