We believe in creating more equitable communities where all people have a home. This vision is in jeopardy as the pandemic and economic downturn are making our housing crisis much worse. A now looming eviction crisis will impact communities across the state, unless our elected leaders act.

Join us as we take this first step and engage our local candidates for public office in this needed and urgent discussion. We will engage the candidates in a conversation to hear their vision for who will make decisions about who gets housed, the crisis of homelessness, and the long term solutions, like Bring it Home, MN, Beacon’s rent subsidy campaign.

For this meeting we’re inviting candidates for Senate District 44 and House District 44 A/B, in the area of Plymouth, Minnetonka, and Medina. House and Senate District 44 races are essential to many Beacon members who live in the district. The state legislature has a critical role to play in meeting the current challenge and working toward long term solutions. Conversations with these candidates will focus on responses to the growing crisis, long term solutions like Bring It Home, MN, and the state’s responsibility to put resources toward those who need it the most.
