Announcing Our Service Provider at Emerson Village

Dan Gregory March 26, 2021

Beacon is excited and honored to announce that we will be working with Project for Pride in Living (PPL) as the service provider at Emerson Village. PPL is a results-driven affordable housing and career readiness organization focused on two core drivers of poverty – homelessness and unemployment.

When completed, Beacon’s Emerson Village will offer about 40 high-quality, well-managed apartment homes in a variety of 2, 3 and 4BR sizes for families in North Minneapolis. Beacon is the developer and owner of the building. PPL will offer parents and children family-centered services that promote housing stability, economic empowerment, education, and health and wellness for resident families. Learn more about Emerson Village here.

We are excited to be building this partnership with PPL because they have a long history and experience providing quality supportive housing and services to families in the community. In addition, they carry a deep organizational commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion practice, and hold a long-time partnership with Northside Achievement Zone and the ecosystem of other vital North Minneapolis organizations that will serve families well at Emerson Village.

“PPL was engaged as a service provider partner for the Emerson Village project because of a synergy of shared values, timing, and strategic focus on housing that is grounded in the local community’s preferences and needs,” says Kynda Stull, Beacon’s Director of Service Partnerships. “PPL’s service model is family centered, flexible and responsive, and deeply collaborative. They will bring best practices and a deep commitment to families.”
