The Essentials
- About 40 high-quality, well-managed apartment homes.
- Affordable for families who make less than $30,000 a year.
- Focused on young families who are at risk of homelessness in suburban Ramsey County.
- Individualized onsite support services provided by Solid Ground.
- Solid Ground’s onsite staff will co-create plans with each family based on what they need to thrive together. Plans might include a focus on health, employment, education, finances, or parenting support.
- Amenities close to this site such as transit, parks, and the crossing of two major trails would make it easy for families to enjoy being families.
- Supportive Housing is a proven model for ending chronic homelessness and assisting people as they build strong foundations to move forward.
To create these homes, we will need:
Congregation Members and Supporters to show up in support at key moments, make a gift to support the work needed before the shovel hits the ground, and spread the word about why you support Gladstone Crossing. Attend a Beacon 101 to learn more about supportive housing and how it fits with Beacon’s vision that ‘all people have a home’ by visiting beaconinterfaith.org/events.
Public Officials to approve land use and zoning decisions, and champion and secure public funding for rental assistance, support services, and capital.

Supportive Housing in Action: Hawa’s Story
“I remember when Hassan started learning how to walk. At first, I thought he was someone else’s kid. I just couldn’t believe that my son
was walking,” Hawa smiled and laughed. “I’ll never forget how breathtaking it was. Hassan is growing every day, and I get to watch it happen in our own home.”
Ever since Hassan was a newborn, he and his mother Hawa have called Beacon’s Cedar View apartments their home. With deeply affordable rent and onsite support services, Hawa has grown alongside her son.
“Homes like Cedar View help ease off a lot of worries for a new parent,” Hawa exclaimed. “Because of my own home at Cedar View, I get more opportunities to achieve my goals and watch Hassan grow.”
