“You should see these homes yourself.” — A Hopkins faith leader reflects on Vista 44 family supportive housing
As a neighbor of Vista 44 in Hopkins, Deacon Francis Tangney from St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church watched Beacon’s family-supportive housing get built from the ground up.
As an early supporter of these new homes, Deacon Francis helped pave the way for Vista 44 by attending land use meetings, advocating for these homes to his neighbors, and donating supplies to future residents.

Beacon community celebrates grand opening of Vista 44 family supportive housing
On September 12, the Beacon community celebrated the grand opening of Vista 44 alongside many of the building’s new residents and Hopkins neighbors. Local officials, including Hopkins Mayor Patrick Hanlon, joined Beacon CEO Chris LaTondresse at the podium to commemorate the event.
Vista 44 offers safe, stable, affordable housing for families exiting homelessness, experiencing housing instability, living with disabilities, or reunifying after separation. Individualized, onsite services at Vista 44 help increase family stability, access to healthcare and social services, and academic support.

Beacon community members engage new supporters at Light the Way Home
When it comes to stopping homelessness in its tracks and helping families and individuals thrive long-term, permanent supportive housing is the most effective tool we have.
On Monday, September 30, nearly 500 individuals—long-time Beacon supporters and new community members alike—gathered to strengthen Beacon’s ability to sustain and expand affordable, supportive housing in Minnesota.
Regardless of whether you attended the event, we invite you to share in the hope and mission of Light the Way Home in three ways:
1. Experience the powerful stories residents shared in this video created for Light the Way Home.
2. Share the video above with friends or your social media network.
3. Donate in honor of Light the Way Home so that we can continue to provide safe, affordable, supportive housing to families and individuals throughout the Twin Cities metro.
Thank you for helping us Light the Way Home!

Beacon resident reflects on how new homes will impact the families of Emerson Village
Emerson Village—our newest apartment homes—will soon open in Minneapolis.
The land being developed to provide permanent supportive housing for 40 families once served as a shelter. It’s where Jessica and her sons first met Beacon before moving into their own Beacon home.
Having called a Beacon apartment “home” for almost a decade, Jessica knows how homes like Emerson Village can help transform lives.
