Your Action Is Needed For Home
The legislative session ends this coming Monday, May 18 and there is still a lot to get done to invest in home. Please take action by emailing legislative leadership today, supporting emergency rental assistance and bonds for housing. Learn more by watching our latest legislative update:
Our vision that all people have a home could be moved forward with investment in emergency rental assistance and bonding for housing. Both of these issues have not passed yet but are on the table and will be part of the final negotiations done between legislative leaders and the Governor this weekend.
Now is our final chance to make an impact as they negotiate what will pass and what won’t this legislative session. Please send three emails today to House Speaker Hortman, Senate Majority Leader Gazelka, and Governor Walz, asking them to prioritize investing in home.

My name is ______, and I live at ______ and I am engaged with Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative. In your final session negotiations, please prioritize investing in home.
Please pass $100 million in emergency rental assistance for the Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program and pass housing bonds this legislative session.
Many homes will not be created without housing bonds. For example, 150 new homes for families who have experienced homelessness in Shakopee, Hopkins, and Minneapolis that Beacon has in development will not happen without your investment in Housing Infrastructure Bonds. Sixty-two other projects have already been submitted to Minnesota Housing, and it demonstrates the considerable need for housing that your immediate investment can create.
You must pass emergency rental assistance and housing bonds before the end of the legislative session on May 18.
