Connected by Home Fundraising Campaign Channels Generosity into Possibility

In 2019, Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative launched its first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign, a campaign we called “Connected by Home.” Connected by Home manifests our belief that everyone benefits when all people have a home. Community wellbeing is improved when children have a home for schoolwork, when parents know their paycheck can go to more than just the rent, and when a disability won’t keep a neighbor from finding stable and supportive housing.

In the last three years, Beacon’s donors have allowed us to leverage their campaign gifts many times over to secure capital, sustain operations, and provide supportive services to connect more of our neighbors to the stability of home. In fact, donors have provided the indispensable gifts that have allowed us to nearly double our impact for neighbors facing homelessness! You have channeled your generosity into possibility, and your donations into opportunity and stability for so many. For this, we thank you.

You also helped us weather an unforeseen storm, a time in our community when the importance of stable housing was never felt so keenly. Despite the pandemic, we take great pride in reporting that through your support and generosity, Beacon was able to keep our residents and shelter guests safely housed; there were no COVID outbreaks in our housing, and no loss of housing due to loss of income.

We are proud to report that Beacon has become the leading developer of deeply affordable and supportive housing in the Twin Cities. In the last three years, we have launched the development or renovation of 552 deeply affordable homes in our community and provided supportive housing services to over 400 households to support those who are transitioning from homelessness to thriving in their home. We have provided safe, quality, and stable homes for over 1,000 neighbors in our existing developments and provided emergency shelter for nearly 50 families in crisis.

In addition to donor support of deeply affordable and supportive housing developments, our donors have helped us launch the Bring it Home, Minnesota campaign, a bold policy solution that would ensure that every Minnesotan gets the rent support they deserve. Gifts from our donors will generate transformational change – motivating our policy makers to adequately invest to solve the affordable housing crisis in our state.

BE A PART OF CONNECTED BY HOME

Our Connected by Home campaign ends on June 30, 2022 and we’ve raised 90% of our goal. We are incredibly grateful for all those who have donated to support our work and who have chosen to invest in the values we share. Gifts of all sizes are welcome and appreciated. They will help us reach our campaign goal and move us closer to the vision that all people have a home.

Please make your gift before June 30. Visit beaconinterfaith.org/donate.
