Suburban supportive housing for families in Maplewood.

Gladstone Crossing will be about 40 deeply affordable apartments for families with onsite services that will focus on young families. Click here to view and download our official overview.

The Essentials

  • About 40 high-quality, well-managed apartment homes
  • Affordable for families who make less than $30,000 a year
  • Focused on young families who are at risk of homelessness in suburban Ramsey County
  • Individualized onsite support services provided by Solid Ground

Why Gladstone Crossing?

  • There is an immediate and growing need to create deeply affordable housing in suburban Twin Cities communities.
  • Beacon’s preferred site is situated in the historic Gladstone neighborhood in Maplewood. Amenities close to this site such as transit, parks, and the crossing of two major trails would make it easy for families to enjoy being families.
  • Family homelessness is rising in suburban Ramsey County. Gladstone Crossing will provide homes for many of these families, offering them stability where parents and children alike can flourish.

Supportive Housing

  • Supportive Housing is a proven model for ending chronic homelessness and assisting people as they build strong foundations to move forward.
  • Solid Ground’s onsite staff will co-create plans with each family based on what they need to thrive together. Plans might include a focus on health, employment, education, finances, or parenting support.

“Shining a Light for Home” – Senior Congregational Organizer Justin Lewandowski reflects on what it will take for us to create the new homes at Gladstone Crossing.

To create these homes, we will need:

Congregation and community members to show up in support at key moments, make a gift to support the work needed before the shovel hits the ground, and spread the word about why you support Gladstone Crossing. Attend a Beacon Now event to learn more about supportive housing and how it fits with Beacon’s vision that ‘all people have a home’ by visiting beaconinterfaith.org/events.

Public Officials to approve land use and zoning decisions, and champion and secure public funding for rental assistance, support services, and capital.

It takes a “Seed” of $21,000 per home for Beacon to do all the work needed before construction begins, including the planning, organizing, design and financing. Contact Lisa to discuss making a gift.
